Wie bist du zu deinem Thema oder deiner Tätigkeit gekommen?
Native Speaker
An Anglo-Italian 'hybrid', I grew up bilingual in English and Italian, attending English-speaking international schools in Rome and in London. Later, I studied French and Russian language and literature at the University of East Anglia in the UK (including a year abroad).
Professional Experience
My professional background includes working for OXFAM at their HQ in Oxford, coordinating their translation and interpreting services, and working in a variety of roles in 3 different UN organizations here in Vienna, including administrative roles with UNIDO and CTBTO and working as a translator at the IAEA.
Editing and Coaching
Copy-Editing
My first editing experiences involved copy-editing technical reports written in English by non-native speakers as (an unofficial) part of my first job at the United Nations here in Vienna. I developed my skills further at OXFAM in the UK and in two other UN organisations here in Vienna. I became self-employed in 2010.
Language Coaching
I first started coaching when I worked at the UN, helping colleagues of various nationalities communicate better in English. As such, my coaching techniques draw on my experiences in the multi-cultural environment at the UN as well as time spent living abroad.
In a nutshell: My aim is to act as a bridge between you and your chosen audience.
The bottom line
Even though I've been involved in language work for over 30 years, languages and communication are still my passion! I am very much looking forward to working with you on your project.

Because as they say, what comes around, goes around!
