Paper Studio presents: Traditional Book Binding vol: II Because of the high interest on the previous workshop, in June paper studio will offer bookbinding workshop for the second time, introducing decorative elements and more advanced methods of Japanese bookbinding. Mature students will be introduced to basic steps and vocabularies of bookbinding, as well as more advanced technique of using waxed string and needle, that leaves decorative patterns around the spine of a book. Young students of 13 years and under will learn basic steps of binding a book without glue or a tape, via gestures of folding and tying papers with a ribbon of their choice. For the safety of younger students the steps that involve cutting and piercing will be prepared for them.
